My Favorite Smoothie Recipe

I was never a big fan of smoothies. I wanted to actually chew the food I consumed. As they say, you can teach an old dog new tricks. Last Spring when I was doing a Gut Reset Protocol after 6 weeks of IV antibiotics, smoothies were a big part of the plan. There was a protein powder that I took twice a day that had ingredients to support my body in detoxing from the meds, and wow, did it work. It wasn’t just the supplement powder though; I also added high-nutrient vegetables and healthy fats, and the smoothie became a staple in my eating even after I moved into a different protocol. 

Now that I have a little more freedom in my food choices I mix the ingredients up here and there but the “Creature of Habit” that I am, I have a go-to that is in pretty consistent rotation. 

Chelle’s Favorite Smoothie.

12 oz Coconut Water (Kirkland Organic)

1 cup frozen cauliflower rice

1 cup organic frozen strawberries 

1 T Chia Seeds (Mayorga Organic Chia Seeds*)

1 T Flax Oil*

1 scoop Protein Powder (My favorites are Food For Life, Ultraclear Renew, Truvani*)

1 scoop Sports Research Collagen Peptides

Pop it all into my Nutribullet* and blend away! I have to shout out Nutribullet as well. We have easily made 2-3 smoothies every day since January 2024 and I can’t believe we haven’t killed it yet. Clearly, we tried. Hahaha We finally splurged for a new one just to get a fun color.
